What makes pop music go up in charts?
It is true everybody likes music. But, is music the only thing that makes a person choose his or her favourite artists? As it seems from the chart positions that it is not only music, but the attitude of the artists, kind of video and the provocativeness of the lyrics also makes the music move up in charts.
These are some of the songs, which had very good positions in the charts. But how important is the music compared to the videos, lyrics and the personas of the artisits. However, some of these have excellent music, but perhaps the videos and lyrics surpass.

Now, following are some songs which I feel are musically great, but somehow did'nt gain as much popularity. I don't know why, may be due to the videos or due to the lack of video or is it lyrics.

It is true that different people like different types of music, but I find a few of the songs of the popular group have musical similarity to some of the songs in the less popular group. Then are the videos and lyrics of the song more important?
